      Intense culture, results-oriented, but too many employees are underhanded

      Pros

      - Good reputation - Work with smart people - Pay and benefits are good - Some areas of the company are VERY productive and "best in class"

      Cons

      - Bully managers are tolerated and sometime encouraged by upper management and HR, despite complaints and notorious, chronic issues with the same people - Turnover is high under the same managers and the company does nothing to get rid of them.

      It had such potential but senior leadership messed it up

      Pros

      The compensation was good. Some of the people were nice and very knowledgeable about the industry. R&D had really talented scientists, but many were let go in January 2025. Lots of teamwork and collaboration.

      Cons

      Heavy on the favoritism for promotions. Poor leadership and decision-making. Not enough scientists are left to do the work. The only thing that is keeping some people at the company is the terrible job market. Once the market improves, it will be a mass exodus. The new leaders are clueless about how to turn this sinking ship around. They laid off the good ones.

      Pros

      Lots of opportunity if you can find a niche, people really do want to do the best science and what is best for patients.

      Cons

      Ill defined roles leads to toxic turf wars and junior staff used in political fights of upper management. Neuro is risky and Biogen doesn't have the long-term revenue to keep all these programs afloat. Upper management is laser focused on short-term profits and operating expenses.
