Pros

Making a difference in the lives of MS patients. Great co-workers - intelligent, well-educated and talented. Good compensation and benefits. Fun company events (much better in the past). Great facilities in San Diego before they closed the site - campus included a nice cafetaria and a gym. Great company to work for with personable and caring upper-management before the mid-2010 management change. All in all, still better than most companies in regards to employment.

Cons

Jury still out on new C-level management which seems to care less about MS patients and employees and more about the bottom line. Perhaps good for shareholders - not so for employees. Carl Icahn's interest in the company makes it a precarious situation for employees and morale has declined considerably. Hopefully this will turn around.

Pros

Excellent benefits, salary competetive. The level of science is top notch. Very experienced dealing with regulatory agencies, with generally a positive relationship. Sales staff are well-informed on the products and very effective. Very high energy level in the R&D space.

Cons

Lack of a mission is leading to focus on bottom line quarter to quarter. too many shifts in therapeutic area focus and strategy. Too many management starts and stops engenders the belief that there is no long-term plan. The benefits to the patients are not the primary driver any longer. Departments are not well connected and work as isolated pockets, leading to a me-first attitude on a dept. level. High risk-acceptance toward quality systems could lead to real problems with regulators. No critical management roles filled internally, so no continuity of culture.
