Pros

Fun people and vibe. Smart, talented engineers. Real, hard, technology challenges. Perks are amazing. Tide is really turning around, lots of potential and positive momentum both internally and externally. We're through the hard part, have runway to really get to the next level and can see it on the horizon.

Cons

Young management team. Startup risks still apply: ups and downs. Company culture had degraded a bit in 2014 (though on a very positive trend in 2015).

Pros

In less than a year and a half at Bitcasa I've had the opportunity to have a very dynamic role working with and across multiple departments. From technical support, community management, social media, marketing, developer relations, front-end web development, and everything in between, I can honestly say I've done it all. I've learned so many new skill sets that I would have never learned in a corporate environment. The benefits and PTO are great and competitive to most startups in the Bay Area. The team is incredibly passionate, harding working, supportive and fun. Leadership and mentor-ship - of the entire company, not including the CEO, my boss is one of the hardest working people on our team and Exec staff. The definition of a leader and mentor were redefined when he joined the team, and we're better for it. I'm very fortunate to work for someone I can look up to and rely on. Despite how busy he is, he always makes time to listen to my concerns, teach me new things, and advocate on my behalf. Startups are a grind and the challenges don't let up. If you have the drive to succeed and willingness to standout amongst the crowd, there are a ton of opportunities here at Bitcasa. For me, the Bitcasa team and my boss are what make this startup grind totally worth it.

Cons

Not enough recognition for hard work and dedication. Some in management positions are too gossipy, lack maturity, professionalism, and overall leadership. Promotions and bonuses are inconsistent. Culture and company communication dominated by corporate policies.

Pros

Most employees are extremely bright, hard-working individuals who you would be happy to work alongside.

Cons

Upper management is extremely unorganized. We are expected to execute very poorly planned strategies on a regular basis that teeter between being unethical and downright slimy. It often feels that upper management is lying to its employees as much as they are lying to customers.
