Pros

Looks good on a resume Good exposure to senior managers Decent benefits (medical, dental, 401k, gym) Intelligent people Many chances to build different skill sets

Cons

The "master plan" they have changes from week to week. Together with poor communication down the line, leads to frequent waste of time on projects made redundant. Opportunties for real advancement and decent compensation all depend on what group you are in. Certain key areas can get you from analyst to director in 7-8 yrs. The majority however, practice lateral career moves and promotions in name only that will leave you doing pretty much the same thing for x amount of years with only a modest increase in your pay, and usually not much decrease in your hours.

Pros

A good variety of work, with a wide range of interests and responsibilities. Fun working on a team that has existed for < 10years and has had great success

Cons

Management could guide their reports better. Sometimes senior members seem guarded of information (lack of trust? job security?), and training could be better.

Pros

Massive exposure to positions world wide and once you are inside it can be a great place to make your home and obtain your "gold watch". In some cases you can really be appreciated with regard to compensation if you are able to specialize and seperate yourself from the pack.

Cons

If you don't like the corporate culture investment foundation of this firm then stick with individual "boutiques". Big bank atmosphere allows certain personalities to thrive. Overall, this is not a bad place to work. Benefits and salaries are more structured and limited due to the larger "I.B." culture (remember this is still BofA even though people pretend it is not!!)
