Pros

-BLK offers a wide array of opportunities for learning on the job. -Hours are in line with any other financial services job, (the occasional long evening or weekend). -Coworkers are always willing to help or explain a problem.

Cons

- Salary is subpar compared to the industry - More management training is needed. Various middle managers have disgraceful interpersonal behavior and strong negativity. - Decisions are not open for discussion, its a "my way or the highway" atmosphere.

Pros

The money can be quite good and if you work on a project that has good support you'll have something good to put on your resume.

Cons

Secretive and clubby. A lot of them started when BlackRock was small so they talk among themselves. They don't appear to have realized just yet that their current merger makes NYC the third largest office now instead of the first.
