Pros

It is a true meritocracy, where people's success isn't driven by the school they attended or who their daddy is/was, but by their talent and drive.

Cons

It is beginning to feel like a big company with the attendant big company challenges--the need to evolve to a big-company managment structure, disparate locations and different legacy cultures mixing together. It's not a start-up any more. But it's still a great company with a great business model.

Pros

Culture of excellence, want to be (and in many cases are) the best. Pay is decent and benefits are ok.

Cons

Not enough technology is provided to employees. They are too stingy when it comes to that, and this will sap productivity going forward unless they change the philosophy.

Pros

I found management to be understanding and flexible in terms of scheduling. I got a lot of opportunities to interact with high level people in the company. There were a lot of nice employees.

Cons

There are limited opportunities for career growth in some BlackRock locations. Moving to a different department is very difficult in some cases.
