Pros

Strong brand name in the finance/tech world — looks great on a CV. Smart, driven colleagues with a strong engineering foundation. Good work–life balance compared to some other finance firms. Clear processes, good documentation, and mature engineering practices. Compensation is competitive, especially total package (bonus + benefits).

Cons

Tech stack can feel outdated depending on the team you join — modernization is uneven. Decision-making can be slow due to the size of the organization. Internal mobility exists but often takes longer than expected. Some teams have more “finance culture” than tech culture, which may not suit everyone. Not as fast-paced or innovative as pure tech companies.
