Great coworkers, and great place for starting a career
Pros
I got to work with some life-long friends at Blackbaud. For the majority of my time, I worked for a great leader (not manager). Blackbaud is a great place to start your career as they have extensive training and provide you with the appropriate tools to succeed.
Cons
I was given stock as a bonus for going above and beyond in my role that was worth hefty amount at that time. This stock bonus was in lieu of a cash bonus at the time it was awarded. Unfortunately, I was laid off 2 months before that stock vested, and the company didn't pass that on as part of my severance. I understand that there is a vesting period for a reason, but it left a bad taste in my mouth since the company was giving the stock instead of a cash bonus for great performance. There have been a lot of long-time employees that have left in the last few years because the company culture has changed and nobody feels safe or appreciated. Blackbaud used to be like a second home.
