Great company mission, in general a nice place to work. I can see it being a place where I would have wanted to stay if I had been able to work from one of their offices.
Cons
I left because I needed to work remotely, and at the time (pre pandemic) Blackbaud had just started implementing some very remote unfriendly policies. If you were remote you could not be promoted to the management level. Also they did very little to actually support existing remote workers. In-office parties and perks were common, but getting essential remote collaboration equipment (such as decent microphones for team meetings) was always a struggle.

Thank you for your review! Your feedback will help us develop as a company. As the pandemic has proven, our employees can do their jobs remotely and continue to be engaged. This year we implemented a workforce strategy to provide flexibility and choice to our employees. We do not require employees to be tied to a specific geography and can work remotely from any location. If you have any additional feedback that you would like to share and would be open to discussing further, please reach out to blackbaudrecruiting@blackbaud.com. Thank you!
+Minimum 20 days PTO when you start, with ability to earn 3 more days while volunteering at local non-profit organizations.
+Work-life balance is great.
+Pay is average for the area
+Free arcade machines and foosball tables in the cafe
+Events hosted for employees are nice breaks from the work
Cons
-Lack of recognition where it counts (cash incentives)
-The general drone of corporate culture is very present (cubicles everywhere)
-Daniel Island is very nice, but requires crossing a bridge or 2 depending on where you are coming from, which means commute is a daily drain
* As a Software Engineer, I have had nothing but good experiences with my coworkers, managers, and overall compensation.
* The pay and benefits are above what I was expecting as a first time career level job right out of college.
* I have never been pressured to work overtime or on weekends (and even had a manager tell me not to because time off makes for more productive work time overall)
* Regular times scheduled with my immediate manager to ask how I am feeling about my position and work overall, and they are willing to work with me if I ever feel like I'm in a slump or don't enjoy what I am doing.
Cons
* Outside of development, I have heard some horror stories. I can't address these directly since I have not experienced them, but specifically from the Support division, I know some people who say it's been almost the exact opposite of my own experience.
