Long hours, low pay. No room for growth. The magazine location has terrible customers who are not only rude but also racist. The corporate managers who took over told me they wanted to change the "look" of the salon starting with employees. Implying that we had to many women of color on our staff. When I recommended we bring back one of our previous Blo Bosses to share the hours they put on me they asked if she "represented the brand". (I am light skinned Native American and Easter European, often mistaken for white) They treated the employees unprofessionally and with little regard. They over worked stylists to the point where they had 9-12 appointments back to back from 7am-7pm. They disregarded my availability and wanted me to work 60+ hours. Also working the manager 13 hour days and expecting her to clean the entire salon without being clocked in. The turnover since they took over has been ridiculous. When they took over we had 10 employees after 4 days working with them we were down to 3, which is still all they have. I do not recommend working here, the pay starts at $8.00 an hour for stylists and all tips are put on checks.
