Pros
The pay and benefits were competitive. I was able to work alongside some very smart people.
Cons
I joined the company in January. People were tense, but I expected that because I joined at a very busy time for the team. My manager was on leave, so I essentially had to train myself. ONE month into my role, I was laid off alongside nearly half of the entire company. What a waste of time. I was gainfully employed and left my prior employer just to be laid off by Block. The leadership team is incredibly toxic. I picked up on some of it when I joined and clearly should not have shrugged it off. The CEO has a ginormous ego. Now, reflecting back, maybe the reason people are so tense was NOT purely because it was busy season. AVOID until they revamp leadership (if they ever do...).
