Pros
- Got a lot of experience in a B2B/SaaS company. Having Block/Square on resume looks good. This was a remote role but I was able to go into the office quite a bit, which I enjoyed. - In-office is optional, the offices are all - It's a fast moving company. (Could be a pro or a con, depending on how you see it. - Benefits were nice. Provided in-home monitor and equipment, monthly stipend for utilities, wellness, HSA, 401K, etc. All that good stuff. - Hourly position, which benefits you here, becasue you'll most likely be working more than 40hrs a week.
Cons
- You're the bottom of the barrel as a BDR here. A heavy grind position. It was the hardest job due to the fact that you're doing the same thing everyday, (call, text, emailing businesses), you have to hit daily KPIs, often times more than what the minimum is to be successful. - Most reps I've found were in this role for 1-2yrs before being promoted. Seems very slow, especially since is so draining. - Pay and the commission weren't great. (But they do list hourly rate on website, non-negotiable at this level) - I know it's a sales position, but if you don't maintain minimum goal threshold, you're out. Can be stressful situation at the end of every month, especially if you take vacations, your goal will not change.
