Pros

You meet a lot of wonderful people - coworkers, volunteers, patients and their families. It's fast-paced and gives less-experienced people an opportunity to join at an entry level position

Cons

Very transactional relationships with donors; difficult to overcome that culture at the local level due to increased financial expectations year after year, regardless of economy. National office lacks understanding of regional markets.

Pros

Flexible hours and good benefits

Cons

Work culture was very cliquey and not welcoming. Very sales rather than mission focused and I often felt like I was pressuring people to fundraise.
