Flexible work schedule, good benefits and PTO, generally respectful culture, making an impact on cancer research, advocacy and the patients they serve
Cons
Too much pressure on managers to drive revenue with not enough support or accountability from leadership and below industry standard compensation. Expectations of YOY revenue growth by 20% with 3% or less salary increase annually that doesn’t match cost of living standards. Too much emphasis on following national campaign standards rather than overall outcomes and doing what works for each market and volunteers. Fake DEI initiatives to pretend they are working toward equity within the org when there are no measures of accountability or improvement. Less than 150 POC employees in a nearly 1000 person workforce, majority of patients served are also white. Outward facing materials and national representatives intentionally depict a higher level of diversity than in reality. Often hire people with little to no experience in the type of role they are in, sometimes even hiring college graduates who have never had a job before for mid-senior level management positions which puts a strain on others within the market team. Many directors have no people management experience or skills and do not have a full grasp on what their employees are responsible for, leaving too much on the shoulders of mid level managers.
