Pros

The team has a small group of wide ranging engineering specialists Excellent team for any type of fit of person that isn't boring When you get this job, you really have to prove you know your stuff and earn it Potential for growth in the company

Cons

The technology being utilized for the types of operations that RMCC oversees is a little behind in years and weak in processing power, which leads to sometimes slow response times The team is rather small in ratio to the number of clients and sites we monitor Some of the tools we use are glitchy/buggy

Pros

Bloom's culture is a mix of the "start-up", hustle and bustle mentality and the busy, but exciting, Silicon Valley work ethic. It is very challenging though very rewarding I feel. It is hard work but an enormous amount of progress is noticeable every day in the plant. Therefore, the amount of experience you get from working here is counted in dog years. The DE plant is only about 3 years old so almost everyone in the facility is "new" to the company. Since it still lingers in this start-up mentality, you also don't have a set role. They can, and will, ask you to do all kinds of things to help, wherever they need resources. This can be refreshing and interesting but means you have to wear a lot of hats sometimes. Also, there is a lot of opportunity for recognition and opportunities to move up. If you are good, you will quickly gain a lot of respect in this company. In addition, you interact with higher level engineers and managers a lot in this company allowing for tremendous growth on your resume. In summary, tough, hard work, and stressful but fun/fresh, rewarding, and never a dull moment.

Cons

You must be tough and resilient to work here. Since there is still the start up mentality, the environment is not as hospitable as well-developed companies. The attitude is not so much "for the employee" but "for the company's mission" much like a patriotic feeling for your country. This isn't a bad thing, just something you need to prepare for as a feeling you need to be able to share.

Pros

Great customers, repeat customers, product is real and shipping and works, short time between idea for how to solve a problem until you can test and ship it. Can use your technical skills to the fullest every day.

Cons

Management decisions regarding orgainization are more geared to who has been there the longest instead of who is more competent. If you are exceptionally talented, management won't totally ignore you, but if you are a regular engineer, you've got to be a friend of the department head to have influence and be listened to. Difficult to move between divisions.
