Good big company if you're looking for something stable

Pros
Good compensation, good benefits, virtually no overtime or even phone calls beyond usual working hours.
Cons
The technical stack (like the C++ standard or compiler being used) is somewhat lagging behind (which is somewhat expected of a company this size and history, and which somebody might actually find a good thing). Moreover, trying to bring in new technologies, even if proven in other companies or projects, is non-trivial. Personal projects, even if opensource and non-profit and in purely personal time (think weekends) are, in my opinion, frowned upon, and somewhat hard to get approval for.
