      Pros

      BCBSA has a great culture of community service and solid work-life balance. The work is stimulating and there are numerous opportunities for professional growth and learning.

      Cons

      The Federal Affairs team leadership (ED and MD levels in particular) does not play well with others.

      Pros

      Summer Fridays ERGs Visually pleasing office easy to farm your work out, contract workers are plentiful and can be brought on for pretty much any reason. There doesn't seem to be global oversight. You will find out that another area is doing the exact same work you are doing and leadership didnt connect the dots. Fast pay progression for not that much more effort. No backbone in admin, making > 40% more than where I started, 3 title progressions, still the same job as when I was hired.

      Cons

      Super inconsistent, can't focus on a goal for more than a year No accountability, literally nothing is required, pressure comes from direct manager, but leadership can't seem to figure out how to get anyone to do anything so decided that nothing is required. about 2 decades behind in most areas, trying to resurrect old corporate, or more like keeping it on extreme life support. Completely inauthentic culture with no development. The only culture that seems to bring everyone together is comparing/complaining about the RTO. No one is rowing in the same direction or even in the same boat. Creepy competitiveness and siloing. "I have no idea what they do"is usually how you describe your closest teammates. Does not support continuing education or certifications, even if it would save money overall. Would rather hire someone new rather than support growth internally towards new technology
