Pros

Being part of the space industry

Cons

Horrible management- it started as a workforce that’s the best of the best, and has turned into hiring friends and family of employees. You could have the most impressive resume for the position and they’ll still hire friends and family- speaking from somebody who was in the position and pestered about it. They keep piling management layers on and cut corners left and right while lying to Jeff about what is actually happening. Blue is a disgrace to the spaceflight industry and is full of liars and back-stabbers who only care about themselves and not the vehicle and hardware.

Pros

Incentives are becoming fewer and fewer. There are smart people working here but we're so resource constrained that the constant friction from competing priorities makes accomplishing even the most basic tasks challenging and exhausting.

Cons

- HR is imposing crazy policies like Work From Work, limiting internal mobility, forced ranking, limiting promotions, basically doing everything they can to drive attrition - This is despite every major program being grossly behind schedule. - Senior leadership will routinely pick mid career employees to pin failures onto. Wrong place at the wrong time? Get blamed for years of bad decisions from before you joined. - 401k and benefits are middling at best - Work life balance is a joke. It's not uncommon to be stuck working 80 hour weeks because of headcount limitations.

Pros

The pay. Plus the opportunity to do a lot more work than you’re physically capable of while giving your life up in exchange for taking on all the cool responsibilities that your team members left when they quit.

Cons

The culture. It’s the most toxic work environment I ever had the displeasure of working in. Bullying is rewarded. Micromanagement is the norm. Retaliation has HR’s endorsement. I won’t be surprised if I or someone around me is fired for this review.
