Pros

The work itself is cool. The mission objective is cool. The people surrounding you are cool. Overall, a cool place to work with a lot of unique things.

Cons

At one time they lead in pay, but other in-industry companies have caught up and even surpassed. Hope you like mandatory 12hr shifts, their policy allows you to work 14 of those in a row with 1 day off and they sure will push that on you: you can literally be about to pass out from exhaustion in front of management and they will push you to stay. Management is very far removed from the day to day that they set unrealistic goals that are tied to the incentive plan and to individual success rate for the year. Lateral movement only, no way to advance when applying elsewhere in company. Directors will block your attempts to transition groups if they feel you are even remotely a decent employee. Managers constantly lie their way up, there is a very loud unspoken fear of losing your job because you had to deliver bad news. The only thing they care about is the timeline someone made up in an excel sheet.

Pros

Recruiting at Blue means you’re surrounded by some of the brightest most talented engineers in the space industry. The hiring teams you support are across all phases of the engineering product lifecycle for various in space systems programs or vehicles. Meaning you get to work on a wide range of engineering skillsets, some of which are highly niche but exciting.

Cons

Would benefit from more cross collaboration efforts and interactions with internal HR team. The majority of the interactions for recruitment is with the business directly and theres an opportunity for more strategic partnerships. We have new SVP of talent and culture, Deb White, who has brought the HR team together recently and is doing a great job. The future is promising at Blue for all employees thanks to people like her in leadership roles at Blue.
