Pros

Pay is in alignment with aerospace industry, which is better than other industries.

Cons

Far and away the worst place to be an engineer. No real analysis is done, a lot of expectation to figure out how to prove your bosses idea right. Company politics run rampant, and the systems aren't mature enough to allow you to be effective. Everyone says "it's cool to work on rockets" but we broke ground at "rocket Park" in Cape Canaveral almost a decade ago and have built exactly one rocket. You don't work on rockets here, you get to watch first hand what a failing business looks like, except there's enough money in the bank that we don't have to actually figure out how to succeed. Culture reflects leaders we've taken from SpaceX, Amazon, and Boeing, so you can imagine there's a lot of "do more with less" along with cutting corners, seeing people as expendable, and we even picked up some of the engineering and project management habits that have had Boeing in the news. Recommend you look elsewhere, there's great companies in the area.

Pros

My time at Blue Origin allowed me to learn a lot of new methods to solve problems from a very smart group of people. The team members are genuinely passionate about space and making the company move efficiently. They try to be fair while covering for each other, and sharing knowledge. The sky is not the limit (literally), so long as time and priorities allow. Great benefits.

Cons

Huge burden of top-down priorities which over-demand time. Stack rank merit system. Little to no time to improve processes. Lack of flexibility in general, though varies somewhat by team. Layoffs and continuously dropping morale.
