Great People, Frustrating Processes – Not Worth the Headache
Pros
- There are a lot of skilled and knowledgeable people here. If you can get past the internal chaos, there’s plenty to learn from your peers. - The company has good tools, experienced technicians, and specialized equipment—unfortunately, they aren’t used to their full potential. - I was able to have a "trial run" as a contractor and see how terrible this place was before I relocated my family!
Cons
- Management consistently fails to address fundamental issues. Problems are ignored, decisions are delayed, and when action is finally taken, it’s usually the wrong move. - Departments don’t talk to each other enough, leading to confusion, rework, and delays. Silos and "walled gardens" make collaboration harder than it needs to be. - Deadlines get missed all the time, Jira tickets are unreliable, and people aren’t taking ownership of their work. Things slip through the cracks way too often. - The company has unnecessary red tape, like blocking access to hardware until all documentation is fully "released," even when the work is already done. It slows everything down for no good reason. - Meetings go off the rails, drag on forever, and often feel like a waste of time. There’s no real effort to keep them focused. - Too much time is spent on out-of-scope tasks instead of critical deadlines. High-priority work gets delayed because people are chasing things that don’t actually matter. - There’s way more work than there are people to do it, and leadership hasn’t done much to fix that. Everyone is stretched too thin, which makes hitting deadlines nearly impossible.
