Pros

The vibe was consistently of team work and helping one another. The friendships that I made there will last a lifetime.

Cons

The flip side to that is the level of complaints from team members. Many (although not the majority) of technicians seem to be complaining about one thing another constantly. The bottom line was that they would help you in a pinch, but make sure that you know that they aren't happy about it.

Pros

If you're persistent, disciplined, and discerning, there are many educational opportunities. Opportunities to develop and utilize your skills and knowledge. Potential to transfer to other BluePearl hospitals - locally if you just want a change of scenery, or nationally, if you relocate to another part of the country. For the most part, everyone (doctors, techs, front office, management) are friendly on a social level.

Cons

Lower salaries compared to other techs with similar (or less) experience that are working in general practice, industry, etc. Long-term employees have minimal opportunities for financial advancement. Working environment is often chaotic. Hiring seems to be focused more on finding individuals that: a) Can work the required hours (nights, weekends, holidays, on-call) b) Fit in with the social culture of the hospitals (rather than seeking out (and compensating) individuals that are the most qualified (skills, education, experience, etc) to provide advanced care to their patients and clients)
