Pros

Great for someone who doesn’t want to sit still. Work part time and stay out of the politics. Maybe a motivator to get a college education and get out of retail. I gave a four star for compensation and benefits because there is a good 401(k) and medical insurance.

Cons

Chronic turnover because pay is low. Any good people will work hard and get burned out. Manager compensation is not competitive. Assuming the managers compensation is still the same, good luck making the store stretch goal. Managers bonus is capped at a low percent of total sales. Carrot dangling to get you to say yes to the job offer n training. Blaming shaming and throwing people under the bus. Retail in general does not require a high emotional IQ. Case in point.
