Pros

Good gratis, and that's about it

Cons

Where do I start? Opening to close shifts that change with no warning. Not allowed any time off. Bonus promised then taken away regularly. No HR department meaning nowhere to turn when things go wrong. Healthcare costs $1000 monthly. Management blames employees for their mistakes causing frequent employee turnover and unhappy workplace. Many stores have no heat/AC for months at a time. Low salary.

Pros

Our first store manager and DM were great! super supportive and gave positive feedback and constructive criticism.

Cons

Immediately when we were transferred to a different DM, she fired the first store manager just to hire a friend of hers that she had hired previously at another company. No professionalism or tact, called in to work on my only days off, constantly closing or working closing then opening shifts. Second manager told us we needed to "tart it up and look trampy" with our makeup. Forced to sell home line without any training and not all products suit all clients.

Pros

Work-life Web balance was acceptable. I was able to balance my schedule with school.

Cons

There was ni employee break room, so we either had to sneak bites of food on the sales floor, which looked very unprofessional, especially since customers had no idea that we had nowhere to eat. If we brought our lunches, the only other place to eat was in an unoccupied spa treament room, which is against health code & terribly unhygienic. Also, whenever I worked the closing shift with the manager, the store would stay open as long as she wanted which sometimes was until 11 p.m. in order to sell a few dollars more.
