Mostly doing well. Need to replace the CTO asap

Pros

The company is doing very well and growing. Most employees are nice and talented, with good intentions across the board.

Cons

The one big con is the CTO. He needs to be replaced ASAP. He is literally damaging the company for years: - Aggressive and rude communication. No one in the office likes him, including senior managers and executives. Many good people already left because they couldn't work with him anymore. - He built a development team which simply don't execute - super slow, and product is low quality. Zero understanding of how to build for the US market. - Development team culture is bad - developers are literally not allowed to make any decision by themselves. They are not even allowed to provide time estimations. so has an idea of when something will be shipped!

Thank you for sharing your opinion with us, and please know we take your feedback seriously. I’m sorry to hear your experience has been less than ideal. Our engineering team consistently produces award-winning products within budgeted time frames, and we push our teams to uphold quality standards. This translates into a culture that's work hard, play hard and that isn’t a fit for everyone. There are internal channels for providing feedback, so I encourage you to speak with your manager or department leader, to your local HR department, to our Chief People Officer, or to me directly. We strive to constantly learn and are always looking to improve. We’d like to hear more about your experience directly. Thanks, Eyal Lifshitz, CEO

Unparalleled opportunity

Pros

I have been afforded unparalleled pathways for growth in my years at BlueVine through the opportunity to lead people and cross-functional initiatives. It is a culture where stars excel, because they are given ample opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways. Successful BlueViners make things happen by acting on issues rather than wondering whether they will overstep their bounds by acting. They are forceful but empathetic debaters, and they seek the optimal company outcome rather than the optimal personal one.

Cons

BlueViners come to BlueVine for the opportunity to take and own meaningful work; not for the compensation. Expectations are high. Positive feedback is hard to come by, and BlueViners have to be satisfied with a job well done rather than praise for their work. A suburban office setting means after-hours hangouts in the office all hands areas happen very rarely.
