Work life balance. Interesting Stuff to work on. As a Flight Control System Software Engineer, the stuff you gets to use to do your work is very diverse, ranging from writing software, to in-person hardware in-loop airplane testing. Taking charge of a sub-system and take it from start to finish is encouraged.

Cons

The engineering work flow is long and frustrating, and very much stuck in the past. Lack of modern software engineering method/workflow, and the manual "paper trail" one has to produce throughout the process is really burdensome to engineers, and not value adding, nor ensuring quality. Knowledge transfer is also somewhat disorganized.
