      Big company with lots of opportunity, though not much exciting work.

      Pros

      Unionized engineering - once you've been a while you have some great job stability. Great health care and work life balance Good 401k matching

      Cons

      -Raises are pretty crappy with new contracts. No incentive to work hard. You get nearly the same raise as everyone else. -unionized engineering - hard to trim the fat on the company and keep it lean. -with recent downturn, work is very boring. Nothing very exciting going on at the company. If you are used to a fast paced, exciting environment, youll probably feel like you're rotting away here.

      Decent place overall but hindered by red tape

      Pros

      The lower level company culture seemed pretty good. Everyone I worked with was always friendly and helpful. My immediate boss was great and did a wonderful job advocating for our group. The pay and benefits in the Seattle area were respectable. Not amazing but I would say slightly above average. I was pleased with them.

      Cons

      Soooo much bureaucracy and red tape. No one knew how to actually get anything done. Every single project felt like it was the blind leading the blind through a maze of red tape. And the meetings were endless. Meetings about upcoming meetings. It wasn't uncommon to spend half of your work day in meetings that were barely relevant to your job but you were still expected to be there for some reason.
