Pros

Low stress for web development work, 2 free weeks off at Christmas/New Years time, flexible work from home, yearly bonuses (sometimes). Education reimbursement (including some technical certs). Most people are pretty friendly, act like robots, or both. The company name impresses people who don't know better on your resume.

Cons

Old technology, low raises, easy to feel isolated/on an island, lack of career growth opportunities, ancient office furniture, bad parking. Technical debt is very high with high resistance to resolving it, revolving door for leadership results in any initiatives being temporary and pointless (can't take it seriously), regularl lay-offs mean constant "over the shoulder looking", IT roles feel and are treated like an expense, regular outsourcing to India or Dell of sys admins, database admins and (next up) developers. Work expectations are low, and there is no incentive to excel because taxes will take a majority of any bonus increase from performance, and maximum annual pay increases caps at 6 - 7% anyway.

Pros

Great Pay and Benefits, 401K, Health Benefits. 7-3PM.

Cons

The managers and techs are toxic. Boeing supports a USAF site with other company's and its NOT WORKING! The Boeing managers a Toxic! I deal with accusations constantly from several employees with NO Support from site leader and the operations manager. I have witnessed Boeing and Northrup Grumman empolyees get into shouting matches. A Boeing production manager is likely having affair with a co-worker and Corp HQ and Missile Defense are investigating. For a military base in my hometown, this is terrible place to work! The Boeing Alabama and SoCal based engrs hate coming to this site and complain constantly about the manager, quality, safety. Rumors are the USAF and Missile Defense Agency will not extend the contract with Boeing due to all the HR issues and Lawsuits.

Pros

Some hard to beat benefits and interesting work. Relaxed environment.

Cons

No promotion after several years of highly efficient ratings on my annual performance reviews. Paid way below market value already. Feel stuck with skills that don’t transfer to other industries. Almost considering quitting without another lined up because I’m miserable. Also, no bonus this year.
