Talented Employees, Broken Leadership Culture

Pros

Talented peers who do their best under immense pressure. Opportunities to work on high-profile projects. Name recognition on a resume.

Cons

Toxic leadership culture: Leadership prioritizes optics and control over employee well-being, innovation, and long-term health of the company. Work-life imbalance: Expectations for off-hours availability are high, while flexibility during core working hours is denied. Boundaries are not respected. Disregard for loyalty and performance: Even high-performing employees are treated as expendable. Executive leadership often ignores proven success in favor of one-size-fits-all mandates. Erosion of trust: Widespread inconsistency between stated values (“integrity, safety, quality”) and actual behavior at the operational level. Poor morale: Internal surveys and employee sentiment reflect deep dissatisfaction and lack of trust in executive leadership, with many feeling trapped or planning exits. Resistance to change: Executive leadership often doubles down on outdated strategies even when evidence shows a need for different approaches. Lack of true accountability: Mistakes and systemic failures are often buried or spun, rather than addressed transparently.
