Pros

Good Benefits. Easy place to sit around and earn a paycheck without really contributing too much. Learning together program that provides the capability to further education is awesome. If you make a mistake, well you'll get another chance almost guaranteed.

Cons

Not challenging. Management is poor at best and flat out lies to its employees. Difficult to move up if under the age of 40. There are a ton of incompetant people who hold senior engineering and management positions. Inept people are put to the side instead of removed. It is a good old boys club that rewards its own and takes care of them. Directors comonly encourage the lower level managers to play political games instead of solving problems. There are double standards about how people are treated. People routinely ignore you when they don't like the answers they hear.

Pros

Good work-life balance, opportunity to work with some of the greatest minds in the country, tons of learning opportunities, and company support for employee skill development.

Cons

Boeing hasn't learned from any of the severe safety issues that took place in recent history. Changing CEO won't fix this company because the infection is at the first-line management level. This company is far far away from being a company that puts safety of profits. For example, there are first-line managers who are denying promotions because there are no safety issues with the model that the individual is supporting. No safety issue means less work for that employee thus he/she cannot be promoted. This is sickening and it actually happened in 2024. Morale is very low in some teams. A lot of early career engineers are using Boeing as a stepping stone and I don't blame them. Senior engineers are always looking for voluntary layoff opportunities. Pay for early career engineers is low compared to the other companies. Benefits are average.

Pros

Solid benefits, even for things you'll never use. Cool products and by in large good people.

Cons

Hiring and promotion systems force career engineers out of the company, classic ' you have to leave to promote or get substantial raises' situation. Senior management is generally late career washouts who are not held accountable for poor performance (i.e. low retention of employees). Performance evaluation system is subjective and broken, only present to protect the company legally. High performers are milked for all they have and not compensated accordingly. Systematic, standardized training and development of staff is unfunded and unplanned. First line managers (k-level) are overtasked and unable to effectively managed. Facilities and physical benefits are lacking (you wouldn't think you were in a world class engineering company when you walk through the door each day and find your desk). Finally, I have no confidence c-suite and executive leadership, nor the board. If I didn't know better I'd say they are milking this historic company for all the money they can before they abandoned ship. No accountability for these leaders.
