Pros

The company is like an extension of federal government, relatively stable, you can hold a position for long time. If you are good at people skills, like to play politics, want to climb cooperate ladder, BAH is the right place for you.

Cons

If you think you are a technical guy and really want to do things, don't come to this place, this is not the right place for you. I have found that people here don't want to follow project management process, although there is an internal audit, and I am always amazed by some of the people here to find creative excuses to work from home. Someday BAH can publish a brochure named as "101 reasons to work from home in Booz Allen", that's probably why some people like to stay in this place.

Pros

1. Good benefit package. 2. Flex work hours. 3. Multiple locations allowing flexibility for employees to work near home or even telecommute from home. 4. Up-to-date technology - good place to learn new skill.

Cons

1. Many projects short-lived - unstable, insecured work environment when projects ended. 2. Too much politics. 3. 360 degree annual assessment - beware of this.

Pros

The pros of working at Booz Allen only come if you work out of McLean, or if your office is large. If it's small (my case), it's a disaster.

Cons

No one knows you. If your manager is not engaging in actual business development, you're stuck. There are a lot of pros that are sold to you in your job interview (transferring potential, courses, societal groups, promotion, etc) that are just not so when you work out of a small office. Principals NEVER work with you, so you get little interaction with your core functional group. In essence, they don't provide the tools for you to network outside of your core team, and if your core team is small and you lose your client, you're out of a job.
