      A great place to start your career, but very political and growth beyond Associate requires luck as well as performance

      Pros

      Opportunities to develop business proposals, lead high profile projects and receive feedback from seasoned consultants. Looks great on a resume. Very flexible in choosing work location and projects. Extremely collaborative and there is opportunity to utilize information from similar projects. Great internal training program with certifications in a wide variety of functions.

      Cons

      Very political. Promotions require "socializing" performance through an overkill of network. Few opportunities to move beyond Associate and earn big bucks. Doesn't value an MBA as much as other consulting firms. Only values experience so there aren't too many young managers.

      Pros

      Opportunity for advancement, high level of respect by colleagues, excellent benefits and flexible working arrangements, ability to relocate if necessary/desired - offices are everywhere

      Cons

      Entry level positions do not pay well at all in most cases, although if you stick it out, you usually can get a huge bump in pay
