Pros
Worked here for 5 years. Decent company, but experience varies significantly contract to contract and, more importantly, admin chain to admin chain.
Cons
1. Nepotism and connections are all that really matter in retention and advancement here. I'd estimate for every 10 Senior Associates and above I encountered, 9 of them were related to or prior close friends with someone higher up their chain of command. Leadership and people decisions are based off connections and how you sell your work. You could write an LLM from scratch, but if someone else creates a folder and markets that better than you, they'll be prioritized over you. 2. I can only speak for the PM contracts, but no one knows a lick about technology it's embarrassing. My former boss heralded himself as an "AI Agentic Forward Leader", but had no idea what the cloud was. He thought it literally meant data was stored in the clouds. This individual was a Senior Associate on a massive IT contract - the jokes write themselves here. 3. No one anywhere has respect for the C-Suite or has pride in the "Booz Allen" way. The Booz Allen way is best summed up as overselling and underdelivering, but delivering your trash in a gold wrapper so you can get more money and contracts to staff aug into oblivion and collect taxpayer dollars with minimal effort.
