Pros

I can honestly think of no pros and that's sad because I usually can think of something good about an experience I've had.

Cons

So many things are unprofessional about this firm. The day to day things that make a difference in the life of a secretary or attorney do not seem to matter to this firm. Files are a mess. Many, many workers delete the Word versions of documents leaving only PDF files causing workers to have to recreate documents on a daily basis. Don't bother bringing this to the attention of management. I did and they don't care. You have to ask permission to purchase paperclips. I'm not kidding. Christmas gifts for staff consist of a coffee mug, a candle and a small blanket with the firm's name on it. Attorneys are not given the electronics they need to conduct depositions via Zoom because of the firm's fear they will be taken. They are expected to purchase their own. Neither attorneys nor staff are allowed to contact IT when they're having problems without the permission of management which can take days to obtain. I have a history of working in AV rated law firms and could not believe the lack of respect provided to staff and attorneys alike.

Pros

Borton Petrini was my first job in the legal field while I was attending court reporting school back in 1993. The office manager at that time saw my potential to do more than be a file clerk and mentored me for a legal secretary position. That little jump start into the legal field made it possible for me to work in big law in San Francisco and Los Angeles as a legal secretary and legal word processor for the past 30 years. Finding myself back in a rural town in Kern County and the opportunity to once again work at Borton Petrini has turned out to be an incredible blessing in my life. I can honestly say that Borton Petrini has been my favorite place I have worked. My co-workers all feel like family to me.

Cons

I have no cons in my experience here.

Pros

Believe me, you should avoid this company.

Cons

The management is utterly horrible! The way the leadership treats the employees is very inhumane and unreasonable. The level of stress and pressure as a legal assistant in this company is unmatched. You will be the subject of verbal harassment, abuse, and bullying by your supervisors. I don't understand why anyone would want to work in an environment as awful as this company's
