      Bosch - good company

      Pros

      As an organization, Bosch believe family comes first; and they take good care of their employees

      Cons

      Retained some poor managers from inherited companies who are not interested in developing good employee relations, and are not very good at modern management principles. Some of the managers are more concerned with maximizing their bonus than with doing what is best for the company and employees.

      Almost 10 years with the Automotive Aftermarket Division based in Broadview, IL

      Pros

      Leading R&D as a percentage of sales in the industry. Large, stable company with HQs in Germany. Opportunities to grow and diversify due to many different businesses and units. Privately held, so less pressure to adjust during economic downturns.

      Cons

      With HQ in Germany, many directives and mandates do not work in the United States. Recent structure changes have created a level of uncertainty for associates. Compensation is below market average for similar positions.
