Expat clique. If you're not an expat, tough luck. You'll probably not get invited to they're expat/management gatherings and if you do, you might get advancement opportunities (at the cost of part of your personal life). Despite the stereotype of Germans being objective, humans are still human in the sense that in-group preference is strong aka favoritism/nepotism/subjective ratings: "If people like you, you can do no wrong. If they don't like you, you can do no right." Indians hiring and promoting Indians. Germans hiring and promoting Germans. Very big disparities in salaries between local employees and expats (most of which come from Germany).
