I know this varied by person/team, but my mentors and boss were really chill and didn't assign me a ton of stuff. This was nice at times because I could just hangout with interns and play table tennis in the cafeteria, but a lot of the time I just ended up being super bored because they didn't have enough work for me even when I asked.

Cons

As discussed above, I was bored a lot because they didn't have stuff for me to do a lot and I felt I didn't learn a lot or have much to talk about in interviews about the experience.
