COL pay can be difficult

Pros

Flexible, team oriented, benefits, music all day, pm the job training

Cons

Doesn't pay to cover cost of living, micro management from corporate level management, technology is behind the competition at times. For a company that is pushing wireless, new technology, it seems that a lot is missing. Not all of our systems support 4K, we have yet to make wireless in ears or noise cancelation headphones, and we still don't have a better sounding portable for travel speaker. On top of that, our portable speakers are not weather proof, drop proof, or dust proof. Makes it even harder when we don't sell an accessory that is that like 3rd party companies out there do. This company is really behind on the desires of customers.

Pros

A lot of smart and nice coworkers; some cool and fun products and projects to work on. Lots of people stayed with the company for decades long.

Cons

Struggles to transform itself from an old traditional hardware OEM device manufacturing company to smart device company where software differentiates the products with competitions. Rounds of reorgs and tones of politics to grab power. Company culture and environment are going downhill.

Pros

Great company, benefits, work/life balance but what makes Bose really great is its people! Very collaborative colleagues and in most positions, advancement opportunities are plenty if you can muddle your way through the many layers of management and differing opinions that are, at times, contradictory.

Cons

Right now, there's so many dysfunctional management teams that seem to be muddling through a tough transition and making rash decisions based on numbers and not quality of work or personnel. Stay clear until the dust settles. Multiple layers of management with few people actually doing the work is stressful not to mention a bad business model.
