Top management will lie to you and dangle carrots to keep the better folks around until they realize that there's nothing there but empty promises. Wages aren't equal and some people were hired at the same time at half or even a third of the rate of others for unknown reasons. Your pay depends on sales to a degree but they lack the ability to forecast demand or just don't have the guts to take risks and produce adequate quantities of product to meet the goals they set.
