      BCG--Smart people, but work/life can be tough

      Pros

      BCG has some of the smartest people around. The caliber of people you meet at the firm is really incredible.

      Cons

      The travel in some offices can be particularly brutal and being away from family for 3-4 nights a week can be tough.

      Pros

      - Insanely talented, intense and supportive colleagues. Sometimes it's a bit scary to work on the team when everyone is smarter than you are, but it also pushes you and makes you grow. - The feedback process is very detailed, expectations are clearly defined and transparent - and although reviews may not be the most comfortable, they are typically very actionable and ensure ongoing improvement. - Terrific work - in the past year I've worked on a number of projects dealing with high-strategy issues for very demanding clients and we were helping them change the way they think about their business. Priceless.

      Cons

      - It often feels that you need to run really really heard to just stay above the water. The expectations and demands are increasing all the time with the career progression, so the bar feels always moving. On one hand, the process leads to continuous development, but it can also be highly stressful. - Work-life balance can be an issue.
