      Pros

      my peers are wonderful to work with, my immediate boss is fair.

      Cons

      The Union, they don't support the membership. They are not aware of upcoming management decisions that involved the laying off of a large number of nurses and ancelery staff. The health care bill is taking it's toll on healthcare in Mass and BMC is no exception.

      Pros

      Generous earned time. Option to cash out earned time if you have accumulated enough hours. Affordable employee healthcare plan, compared to other companies. Diverse environment.

      Cons

      Compensation is not always merit-based Resistance to change. Paid parking. BMC likes to tout its diverse working environment, but there is a HUGE divide between diversity within lower level positions and diversity within senior management level positions. There is little, if any, diversity in the latter group.

      Pros

      Great benefits package, FTE's receive 5 weeks off + holidays to start. I can only speak for the few departments I've worked in and with, but the people are professional and competent, yet laid back. My supervisors have all been great about the employee review process. There has been a lot of opportunity to grow within the hospital.

      Cons

      The location is terrible. The hospital is not only a pain to get to, but the area itself is not exactly safe. I don't like our HR department. In my experience with the initial hire and internal transfer, the process was a bigger pain that it had to be.
