Cons
-Last few years has been a revolving door of CEO's. When Mahoney takes over in November, he will be the 4th CEO in 4 years. -Company tries to buy growth rather than develop it internally. They also claim that "we spend a $1 billion a year on R&D", even though we do not. Company hasn't spent that much on R&D in years. In fact, R&D spend has declined consistently for several years - just take a look at the P&L's. -BSC is the only major medical device company that is not growing. Check the sales of MDT, ABT, STJ and you'll see what I mean. -As a reult of no growth...company struggles to turn a profit, meanwhile competitors are making money hand over fist. Again, just take a look at the P&L's.
