      Pros

      Opportunity to work on products and projects focused on improving people's lives. Development of technical competence through extensive training, including process and product validation, six-sigma and lean. Knowledgeable staff that can support your projects, if you know where to look (extremely important to build personal network).

      Cons

      Lack of management training, even if individual does not have any people management experience. Dictatorship style of management, generating results through intimidation and bullying. HR department more focused on punishing staff for failing to meet requirements, rather than understanding the root cause for mediocre organizational performance.
