Company struggles to stay at the cutting edge of digital technology because of how big they are and how fast they are growing organically and in terms of acquisitions, putting more of a focus on their hard-tech innovation mainly through acquisition rather than internal innovation. If you are working closely with the IT/Tech side, they often invest in safe bets and slowly adopt new technology as opposed to pushing the boundaries of what they have the capital and investment to actually achieve, so the work can be more unfulfilling and difficult to see a big impact like more tech-forward companies.
