Supportive managers, high quality colleagues, rewarding work
Pros
Tech Comm was under the R&D umbrella of the Cardiac Rhythm Management branch of the business. The tech comm team was massive including writers, translation associates, IT experts who kept the authoring environment functional as well as dedicated content management system experts. Some really smart, hard working people in this group. I loved my manager and my boss. They were very supportive and cool under pressure. Work life balance was supported and respected, the agreement was just to make sure you were putting in your hours and getting your assignments completed on time. I felt we had pretty good buy in from the other groups we served or worked with. The engineers were mostly game and up for helping make the documentation useful. Regulatory was involved in our processes and there weren't issues there. Project management was a toss up, they could be bad or terrible, but that a tough job so I cut them some slack. The campus is really nice. I felt fairly compensated and there were paths to promotion.
Cons
Definitely some inter-team bickering. Usually from the more senior (really good) team members. It could get a little dramatic with regards to projects or overly concerned with fairness, but in a team of ~30 people those things come up. I quite liked most of the senior/principal writers and learned a lot about being a professional here.
