Pros

- Good work life balance. If you were to compare the parking lot at 5pm at BSC to other companies, you would be able to confirm that leaving early is not an issue. - Good corporate initiatives (diversity, recycling, compost, etc.) - 401k matching is good, vacation is solid.

Cons

- Complex quality system. It only gets worse year after year. I appreciate the benefits fully, but the implementation of new system after system just overcomplicates things. - Too much firefighting and too little focus on overall systematic fixes/improvements. - Morale is low in the Bay Area. Ever since 2/3 of the business was moved to Costa Rica, morale here has been low. Add onto the fact that competitive tech companies here have plenty of perks, it's easy to see why morale isn't there. - Engineers cycle in and out relatively quickly

Pros

Paid for most of my education. Continually grew within the company. Enjoyed the people I worked with. Free gym, basketball leagues, and occasional free food. Overall a great place to work in.

Cons

Like any places, politics still plays a key role on your growth opportunity. Lots of tenured people which can make it difficult to grow in different dept. I hated layoff time and see some really good people go! It seems like a yearly occurrence. I always tried to be on my A game so that my name did not end up on that list. When promoting people to leadership role, management team tends to promote people who are technically sound but not necessarily great leaders.

Pros

Great company with great benefits! They want the best for its employees.

Cons

Hard to move up, but they do promote lateral movement.
