Pros

BU provides a good working environment and a lot of good resources. I work in the photonics center, and the shared labs are great to work with. Other universities bill for usage in shared labs, but the ability to do research here with out worrying about the project budget is great. The School is well known, and has a good network for finding future jobs.

Cons

BU is located in a very expensive area, and the graduate student pay is similar to the national average which makes it very low for Boston.
