Pros

- Good compensation for grad students - Focused course requirements - Good resources / equipment BU can be a great place for grad school. They don't have crazy requirements for the program, it can be very self-structured, and there's a lot of great resources.

Cons

- Lots of poor oversight - Atmosphere can be stifling I think graduate school in general is on a downhill trend right now. "Advising" tends to be pretty minimal, there's a lot of egos to deal with, and it doesn't always feel like there's someone out there trying to help you succeed.

Pros

Located in Boston - arguably the most intellectual city in the country, BU is one of the top research universities in the world.

Cons

Proximity to Fenway makes commuting a nightmare on game days.
