Pros

The people on the individual teams are great. Depending on what group you work in, and what discipline, you will get active involvement in your career or absolutely nothing. There is a lot of opportunities in some groups to collaborate across lines of business ("segments") which is unique in comparison to most of my corporate roles in the past. Prior to the sale to Thoma Bravo, this would have easily been a 5-star review and genuinely a company I could have seen myself staying for as long as they would have me.

Cons

Even before the sale, there were some cons (disconnect between disciplines, not prioritizing technical debt, etc). That said, I think there are cons at every company. However, after the Thoma Bravo sale things have just gone downhill constantly. From the beginning they spoke constantly about buying Bottomline "for the culture" and then proceeded to strip the entire culture away within a year. There used to be just small things that Bottomline would do (e.g. early-close at 2p ET on days before a holiday or holiday weekend) that all together made you really feel like Bottomline cared about it's employees. Charity matching every year, a wonderful program where they would provide scholarships to young people, etc. Now, I think for most US based roles they fear for their job regardless of their position.

Pros

Positive work environment full of people who are easy to get along with and genuinely care about doing a good job. Management cares, is accessible, and feels invested in their employees.

Cons

PTO & WFH policies are competitive, but not world-class. Raises are reasonable, but could be larger.

Pros

- Good benefits - Ability to work in fast paced environment

Cons

-The sheer number of internal communications you have to send on a daily basis makes it impossible to actually do your job effectively and if you send something internally that the CEO doesn't like, he will be the first to jump down your throat, you can't win with that guy -CEO is absolutely nuts, if you're not in his "circle" you may as well not even exist. The culture is extremely political and exclusive, breeds ongoing toxicity and an extremely stressful environment for those who the CEO does not feel are "worthy" of his praise -Management is the first to throw you under the bus when something goes poorly, all because they cannot get on the same page -"Guiding principles" are a joke, except delight customers, they do that well. When it comes to looking out for employees and work life balance, it just doesn't exist -Little room for career growth/ability for promotions (unless you're at the top) you can literally be promised a promotion and then have it taken away -Some benefits/perks exist for some, but unavailable for others - some people can WFH, others are scolded, some can have a flexible schedule, others are not allowed, it's 2018, get with the times
