Pros

PTO options are great and certain positions offer a lot of flexibility I've known the exec team for a long time and do think they usually mean well and make some decisions based on forecasting with things they know are coming down the line with changes in law/funding- I just think they're really out of touch with current issues throughout the company and just guess what they think the cause is for all these issues mentioned repeatedly in these reviews. Ask us!

Cons

CEO makes $1,700,000 a year which is an increase from $1,000,000 just a couple years ago. Meanwhile, over half the staff at this company are living paycheck-to-paycheck. Many of us qualify for state aid (which isn't reliable anyway). We cannot afford to even work, no matter how much we might love our particular job. Our insurance has horrendous coverage for mental health services (which is comical), i.e. nearly nothing is covered at all. Even if it's "covered" most therapy sessions in network are still about $120 a session. They will repeatedly mention the EAP services offered but that is reactionary. Why doesn't our company- a MENTAL HEALTH COMPANY- offer better coverage for more proactive mental health services? Insurance used to be a pro years ago but it has been awful the last few years. If we got paid this badly but had better insurance and lower premiums it would at least help a lot. Being underpaid, having high premiums for poor coverage means Bowen is far from competitive anymore. HR never asks for feedback about insurance for a reason- they know that we aren't happy with it. Previously, I would have rated career opportunities higher but the variety of positions has disappeared in the last 2 years. You either need to have an advanced degree to get paid a livable wage or you take a position not requiring one and are paid so poorly that you qualify for state aid (I wish I was kidding). Ask for true feedback- don't just send out Gallups that give a super short option for feedback. It tells us what we already assumed, that you don't want to hear from us. Make an option to submit anonymous forms or something with feedback.

Pros

Excellent pay and benefits; including eligibility for the National Service Corps Grant for student loans.

Cons

Frequent changes and requirements. Corporate just restructured management dynamics, leaving the majority of staff with little to no support. New management who are external hires have since delegated tasks to those not responsible for the tasks instead of shadowing, asking questions or utilizing resources to learn their job.
